Sphere One x ARC
The seed of this partnership began when a friend of Lucy's was undergoing chemotherapy, suffering hair loss as a result. She found wigs uncomfortable, preferring to wear one of Sphere One’s cashmere beanie hats instead for its comfort and cloud-like warmth. Her friends bought her more of the soft, featherweight hats in a few colours. Lucy was touched by their thoughtfulness, and it stayed with her that this small gesture could give a moment of comfort. The hats can be worn turned back as a snug beanie, with a double-layer over the ears or in a loose, slouchier way and are made from the finest, softest cashmere. A special luxe edition, knitted in featherweight baby cashmere and in classic colours is available for purchase for €95 including gift box and P&P. For every purchase of an ARC Baby Cashmere Hat exclusively on our webstore, Sphere One will donate a cashmere hat to ARC, in the hope of giving comfort to their clients.
To date Sphere One has also raised more than €4,000 for the charity and since 2017 has donated countless hats to the men and women who use their service. In purchasing an ARC Baby Cashmere Hat, you too can support ARC Cancer Support, who provide an invaluable haven from the outside world and offer a true place of comfort for people affected by cancer and those who care for them.
Three of ARC’s clients, Catherine, Donal and Lisa were photographed wearing the Sphere One x ARC roll mop hats. They explain in their words what ‘a place of comfort’ means for them.
"Nature awakens the senses and connects with spirit. As you allow yourself be held in it's majestic beauty, there is a letting go and knowing that you are more than a body. These places which lead me to a higher consciousness are my comfort." ~ Catherine
"A place of comfort for me is where I can relax and feel secure and happy with family or friends." ~ Donal
"My place of comfort is anywhere that I feel I am really in my own skin, my go to place of comfort is usually by the sea and when in Dublin that means Dollymount Strand for me and preferably on a cold day when you can have the place to yourself. Comfort to me means feeling warm and free. There is nothing like being wrapped up warm, going for a long stroll on the beach, the wind blowing away all the stresses of life." ~ Lisa
