Antique military jackets are a constant source of inspiration for formal decoration, with their ribbon braiding and embroidery. The Hendrix sweater is inspired by the Royal Hussar military jacket worn by Jimi Hendrix. Looping and interlacing skinny grosgrain ribbon creates an intricate shoulder detail, with a loose ribbon tail on either side just long enough to catch the wind, but short enough to sit under a jacket or coat. Grosgrain is a particular favourite for its textural tonal interest, elevating and enhancing the colour of cashmere, while loose ribbons lend a little movement and magic. Side splits make this neat style easy to pair with a high waisted voluminous skirt or trouser. An otherwise easy round neck, the Hendrix sweater is elegant with a rockstar edge.
