Skellig Luxe 5 ply Cashmere Sweater – Finlough
The Skellig sweater is a hand-framed original design, inspired by an antique Japanese obi belt, whose honeycomb texture is offset by subtle plain purl stripes at the hem and cuff. Generous size with dropped shoulder gives sculptural volume and beautiful drape, and the short collar stands flatteringly away from the neck.
Colour Finlough is a bespoke blend of 5 ply cashmere, made especially for Sphere One by Scottish mill Todd & Duncan, one of the oldest, most skilled yarn spinners in the world. The cashmere is dyed at fibre stage, ensuring depth and delicacy. This sumptuous yarn called Arran, uses five ends of cashmere, the two base colours contribute two ends each while the third is a highlight/ top note. Two ends of Jet, a Navy so dark it’s almost black, two ends of Peat - a dark brown, and one end of Arbour - a petrol blue. The result is a ‘Dead Navy’, like a washed colour, rather than a commercial red or purple tone that a classic navy has.
Finlough is the name of a lake in the West of Ireland, where Lucy has been fly fishing for years. Its depth gives it a brown look, while the reflection on the surface of sky has shifting hues of blue.
